Hey! I'm Alice Mawdsley
An U.K illustrator currently based in Barcelona. I studied illustration at Falmouth University, where my reportage work was longlisted for the World Illustration Awards. I enjoy projects that explore different cultures, everyday life, architecture, and food. My work often focuses on reportage illustration, collaborating with communities during my travels to create colorful drawings and screen prints that share the stories of the people I meet. I hope to use illustration to give others a voice while highlighting the everyday similarities that connect us all.

Designed for beginners, the course starts with the absolute basics. However, it also suits those with some experience, as the lessons gradually increase in complexity to help you continue building and refining your skills.
MODULE 1 & 2: Introduction to Drawing on Location
In Module 1, you'll be introduced to the course, my journey as an illustrator, and what you can expect as we explore the art of capturing everyday life through drawing. In Module 2, we'll dive into reportage illustration, explaining its significance, showcasing key artists, and discussing the benefits of drawing directly from life. You'll also receive a detailed overview of the essential materials needed for on-location sketching.
MODULE 3 & 4: Color Theory & Compositions
In Module 3, we'll explore the fundamentals of color theory, giving you the tools to make informed choices about color in your illustrations. You'll learn how to use color to evoke mood, depth, and balance in your on-location sketches.

The course are divided into several sections, containing the more than 44 video lessons and practical exercises. I recommend watching the sessions in order, as the courses offer a sequential and logical learning path.
